Our free programs for newcomers are here to help you and your family adjust to life in Canada, make friends, and feel at home in your community.

Join to get support starting your career in Canada. This free, 3-month program pairs you with a Canadian mentor to learn about the job market, workplace culture, and networking.
Classes, activities, and general support to prepare for the Canadian Citizenship Exam and to learn more about the rights and responsibilities of Canadian citizens.
This program provides newcomers with an opportunity to meet other people, make new friends, learn about Waterloo and Stratford Region, and build confidence while practicing their spoken English or French.
Join a supportive, inclusive space where immigrant and refugee women come together to build confidence, prioritize growth, and enhance their communication skills.
The Investing in Women’s Futures program helps newcomer, marginalized, and non-binary individuals build skills and achieve their goals in Canada. Programs include computer skills, sewing, customer service, life skills, entrepreneurship, and employment support.
Homework assistance and small group tutoring to school-aged children (ages 5 to 16) in newcomer families. Program offered in collaboration with United for Literacy tutors.
Newcomer Orientation Week helps students entering grades 9–12 in Canada prepare for high school with orientation, success tips, and opportunities to make new friends, running the last week of August.
Through a partnership with MT Space, newcomer youth develop performing arts, language, and leadership skills while exploring culture and identity, with performances at local schools.
